Today we celebrated Ernie, the first graduate of our improved Transitional Living Program at the mission, one with enhanced job placement and leadership training opportunities. After our traditional house ceremony, Ernie stopped by my office to thank me for being part of his life change story. With tears in my eyes, I congratulated him on his accomplishments and thanked him for his contributions.

We have made many changes in the past two years that will lead to sustainable life change for our participants. Ernie’s willingness to grow and offer feedback throughout the process played a large role in the transformation of programing here at the mission! I’m excited that he will be staying on as house manager of the Life Recovery Program house, where he will be able to influence many more men on their road from Refuge, to Recovery, and ultimately, Restoration.

I want to thank all the donors and volunteers that have made Ernie’s life change possible. With the support of our community we can move life’s mountains!
