Director’s Note – January 2019
I look back at 2018 with great excitement and a sense of awe! With your help, we have created programs that result in sustainable life change, and that is humbling.
Men come to us and their circumstances are not pleasant. They find refuge where they don’t need to worry about their next meal or shelter. Through hard work and tremendous effort, they find recovery from their addictions. By the time they graduate, our men have reached restoration with God, family, friends, and their communities. Because of this, a majority of our clients are staying with us in the Transitional Living Program (TLP). On average, we get an extra seven months to build into each graduate; this is something they are choosing to do.
They become an inspiration for the men who are working though the Life Recovery Program (LRP) because the LRP men can see there is the possibility of something better in their future. The LRP men graduate to the TLP and become the inspiration to the men that follow them. It’s a fun cycle to watch!
Of course none of this would be possible without a community that supports our efforts. I am so grateful for all the donors and volunteers that make these life changes happen!
